A spinal board, is a patient handling device primarily used in pre-hospital trauma care. It is designed to provide rigid support during movement of a person with suspected spinal or limb injuries and for most trauma patients. They are most commonly used for transferring such kind of patients by ambulance staff, lifeguards and sports ground staff. 

Earlier it used to be imported from China, now it is produced in India, only by Mitsu Chem Plast Ltd. Being a direct import substitute, it also effectively contributes to the ‘MAKE IN INDIA’ campaign.
