Bengaluru, India : Syngene International Limited, a global contract research, development, and manufacturing organization (CRDMO), announced its recognition by TIME magazine & Statista as one of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies for 2025. Selected from over 5,700 global companies, this acknowledgement places Syngene as the #1 Most Sustainable Indian company in Pharma & Biotech, underscoring its unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship and social responsibility. Globally, Syngene also ranks among the top 20 most sustainable life sciences companies.
The World’s Most Sustainable Companies were identified through a rigorous four-step methodology. The process began by shortlisting companies based on revenue and market capitalization, focusing on those that met foundational sustainability criteria. Subsequent steps considered companies with public sustainability commitments and strong external ratings. Transparency was a key factor in the third phase, where only companies publishing ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) reports and adhering to reporting guidelines, were included. The final stage involved evaluating performance in critical environmental and social areas. Ultimately, the top 500 companies excelling all these criteria secured their place in the final ranking.
Speaking about the achievement, Pramuch Goel, Head of Corporate Affairs, Syngene International Ltd., said, “This recognition reflects the deep commitment across Syngene’s operations to integrate sustainability into every aspect of our work—from scientific innovation and operational excellence to community engagement and climate responsibility. At Syngene, we believe that a strong ESG foundation not only future proofs our business but also delivers meaningful impact for society and the planet. This acknowledgment encourages us to stay focused on making steady progress and contributing positively to the world around us”
Syngene has made significant strides in advancing its sustainability agenda. Notably:
- 92% of the electricity consumed was sourced from renewables

- 96% of hazardous and non-hazardous waste was recycled, aligning with the company’s goal of zero waste to landfill
- Syngene’s emissions reduction targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
