~Through a case study challenge, India Included on Campus initiative aims to build a generation of leaders who see inclusion as inseparable from leadership
Mumbai : Godrej DEI Lab, the diversity and inclusion initiative of the Godrej Industries Group, last week held the third leg of India Included on Campus, a case study challenge, at Indian Institute of Management–Mumbai (IIM–Mumbai). Through this initiative, the Godrej Industries Group aims to invite students from top B-schools to tackle real-world challenges around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and identify future leaders who champion DEI.
The India Included on Campus initiative focuses on one of the most pressing priorities in corporate India – hiring and retaining more women in the workforce. Through the case study challenge, students are expected to conduct in-depth research and propose innovative and actionable strategies to increase women’s representation for more balanced and inclusive workplaces.
Speaking about the initiative, Parmesh Shahani, Head of Godrej DEI Lab and author of Queeristan, said, “For India to truly thrive, inclusion must move from a ‘nice-to-have’ to be recognized as a core driver of growth and innovation. With this edition, we are encouraging students of IIM Mumbai to think boldly about how workplaces can hire, retain, and empower more women. The goal is not just to solve today’s challenges but to build a generation of leaders who see inclusion as inseparable from leadership itself.”
The competition, which commenced last week at IIM Trichy, followed by SIBM Pune and IIM Mumbai, concluded at IIM Lucknow. The top four finalists will present their solutions to a panel of senior leaders of Godrej Industries Group on October 8, 2025, at the headquarters in Mumbai, with the winning team receiving a cash prize of INR 100,000 and mentorship opportunities with the Group.
In sync with its DNA of empowering inclusive ecosystems within and outside the Godrej Industries Group, through this initiative, Godrej DEI Lab aims to embed diversity into the decision-making of future leaders, thereby driving change across India Inc.
