Jaipur, Rajasthan : Walmart Marketplace, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), recently hosted a regional seller outreach event – Walmart Growth Summit: India Seller Summit – in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The event focused on supporting small businesses to export by providing them with best practices, expert guidance, and networking opportunities to help them access international markets and grow their global presence.
Jaipur, a renowned hub for home textiles, handicrafts, home décor, apparel and jewelry exports, was chosen as the first of such summits. The event aligns with the government’s District as Export Hubs (DEH) initiative and marks the beginning of a series of regional events in export districts across the country. These events are designed to enable MSMEs to scale through cross-border trade by way of onboarding as sellers on Walmart Marketplace to reach global customers.
Speaking at the event, Shri Moin Afaque, Joint Director, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry emphasized the importance of equipping MSMEs at the local level to compete in global trade saying, “Our vision is to boost India’s export capabilities by ensuring that MSMEs at the district level are equipped to participate in global trade. Our partnership with Walmart Marketplace reflects this goal. Walmart’s export-readiness initiatives bring structured training, digital enablement, and market access support directly to entrepreneurs at the grassroots level.”
Mr.Bhupinder Singh, Assistant Director, FIEO Rajasthan Chapter shared that partnerships like this are key to helping Indian small businesses succeed in international markets saying, “Sharing best practices and support will help MSMEs gain a roadmap to not just reach but succeed in markets like the US, contributing to India’s broader export growth ambitions. Digital markets are the right platform for MSMEs to scale when they first become export-capable, and Walmart brings the benefit of structured onboarding and market access support directly to them through this initiative.”
Ashin Mathew, Group Director, Walmart Cross-Border Trade shared his excitement about connecting with MSMEs in Jaipur saying, “This event provided us a valuable opportunity to connect with sellers in one of India’s leading craft hubs and offer practical guidance on expanding their global presence. Our close collaboration with DGFT and FIEO has helped us create a platform that showcases Rajasthan’s strong export capabilities. With practical pathways to grow on Walmart Marketplace, our focus is to help them navigate export-readiness, expand their reach, and build strong, sustainable cross-border businesses.”
Entrepreneurs in Rajasthan are accelerating their global reach, with brands like KG Exports’ Klavate Nandan Terry’s Casalino, Ergode’s Vizaari demonstrating how Walmart marketplace integration can unlock rapid international growth.
KG Exports has taken Jaipur’s jute craftsmanship to homes across the U.S., strengthening its catalog, strategic promotion, and using Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) to scale efficiently. Meanwhile, Nandan Terry has expanded its Casalino bath linen range from 30 to over 90 SKUs, achieving strong year-on-year growth by improving inventory planning, promotion guidance, and visibility tools. Together, these stories underscore Rajasthan’s growing footprint in global markets—and the momentum Indian exporters can capture through cross-border trade with Walmart.
The event received over 700 registrations. Interactive sessions at the summit gave potential sellers a comprehensive understanding of the export journey, including demand trends for Indian-made products on Walmart.com, operational and cross-border compliance requirements, logistics and brand-building solutions. Participants included exporters targeting international eCommerce, manufacturers and MSMEs from Rajasthan’s craft and textile clusters, as well as existing Walmart Marketplace sellers.
