Over 900 students to benefit from industry-aligned automotive training across Coimbatore and Madurai
Tamil Nadu: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced the launch of two new (Toyota Technical Education Program) T-TEP centers in Tamil Nadu under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives for FY 2025–26. Reinforcing its commitment to skill development as a core focus area, the company has introduced the program at Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, and Thanapandiyan Polytechnic College, Madurai.
The T-TEP at Coimbatore was launched in the presence of Shri. Swami Divyanamananda, Correspondent and Shri. G Murali, Principal, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore. Similarly, the T-TEP at Madurai was launched in the presence of Shri. Dr. K Lingadurai, Dean, Anna University Regional Campus, Madurai, Shri. Dr. P Thanavelan, Chairman and Shrimati. Dr. D Saraswathi, Principal, Thanapandiyan Polytechnic College, Madurai. Present at the occasion were also Shri. Sethurajan, CEO, Anaamalais Toyota, Madurai and senior leadership of Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
The newly established centers aim to strengthen India’s automotive talent pipeline by equipping youth with industry-relevant technical skills and practical exposure. Together, the two centers will have a combined annual intake capacity of over 900 students.
At Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya in Coimbatore, the program will be offered across key trades, including Mechanic Motor Vehicle (MMV), Fitter, and Painter, with a total annual intake capacity of 560 students. The second center has been established at Thanapandiyan Polytechnic College in Madurai, serving students from surrounding rural regions. The program here will offer training across six technical trades with an annual intake capacity of 360 students.
As part of this CSR-led intervention, TKM will provide comprehensive training support, including structured Service Skills modules and Body & Mind training focused on discipline, teamwork, and workplace readiness. The program will also offer access to industry-aligned curriculum and specialized training materials designed to meet evolving automotive sector requirements.
The year-long program is designed for final-year ITI and Diploma students and integrates classroom-based instruction with practical On-the-Job Training (OJT) at authorized Toyota dealerships. This blended approach aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, enhancing students’ employability and career readiness.
Aligned with the Government of India’s Skill India Mission, the initiative contributes to national priorities of building a future-ready workforce. By enabling access to quality technical education and industry exposure, TKM aims to create long-term socio-economic impact, particularly by improving career pathways for youth from underserved and rural communities.

Dr. P Thanavelan, Chairman, Thanapandiyan, Polytechnic College, Madurai jointly said, “The program will improve the technical learning environment for our students. With access to industry-aligned training, updated learning resources, and practical exposure, our students will be equipped to understand real-world applications and build successful careers.”

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has consistently championed skill development through initiatives such as the Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI) and T-TEP. Since its inception in 2006, the T-TEP program has trained more than 14,000 students across India, with over 70% of graduates securing employment with automobile manufacturers and authorized dealerships across the country.
