Mumbai: The International Gemological Institute (IGI) successfully wrapped up the 23rd edition of the IGI D Show at Taj Cidade de Goa, Panjim, marking another landmark chapter for India’s diamond and jewelry industry. Held from June 11–13 under the theme Blueprint of Brilliance, the three-day event once again proved its stature as one of the most influential buyer-seller meet, bringing together 45 diamond manufacturers and 180+ retailers from across India under one roof, creating a vibrant, high-energy marketplace built for serious business and meaningful growth.
The 23rd edition drew participation from leading retail brands including Senco Gold & Diamonds, JOS Alukkas, and Reva Diamonds by PNG, alongside manufacturers representing the finest of India’s diamond jewelry craftsmanship. The show floor showcased tens of thousands of premium jewelry creations; from couture collections and fancy-shaped diamond masterpieces to contemporary retail favorites, offering buyers an unparalleled window into the best the industry has to offer. For manufacturers, the D Show remained an unmatched platform to showcase their finest work directly in front of discerning retail buyers. For retailers, it delivered exactly what the market demands today; certified collections, trusted supplier relationships, and the kind of face-to-face business conversations.
While Metal Quality Check has long been an integral part of IGI’s finished jewelry evaluation services, the institute is placing greater emphasis on highlighting this capability. IGI’s Metal QC reviews the quality of the finished jewelry piece, including workmanship, wearability, surface finish, functionality, settings, plating consistency, weight and dimensions, and stamping or engraving clarity. The service helps manufacturers and retailers identify visible and functional concerns before jewelry reaches the customer, adding another layer of confidence to the overall quality story.
Commenting on the 23rd edition, Tehmasp Printer, MD & Global CEO, IGI, said, “The IGI D Show has always been about elevating the quality of business and relationships within our industry, and this edition was no different. ‘Blueprint of Brilliance’ was not just a theme; it was a reflection of the ambition and vision that every participant brought to Goa. We are proud to provide a platform where India’s best manufacturers and retailers come together not just to transact, but to grow, innovate, and set the direction for the years ahead.”
A key highlight of this edition was IGI’s pioneering Virtual Reality (VR) experience, offering an immersive “mines-to-market” journey that showcased how technology can enhance diamond jewelry retail. Designed to help retailers elevate in-store presentations, strengthen consumer engagement, and inspire confident purchases, the initiative reflects IGI’s commitment to innovation. Speaking on the VR experience Tehmasp Printer added, the introduction of VR gives retailers a practical
competitive edge and signals the future of immersive jewelry retail experiences. We believe this is just the beginning of how immersive technology will redefine the jewelry retail experience.”
The show floor this year buzzed with a strong volume of new orders, renewed supply partnerships, and high-value business conversations that carried well beyond the three days. With 45 manufacturers and over 180+ retailers converging under one roof, the D Show delivered on its core promise; accelerating quality connections that drive real, measurable business for the trade.
Suvankar Sen, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Senco Gold & Diamonds, said, “The IGI D Show remains one of the most productive events on our calendar. Having access to 45 top-tier exhibitors with certified, handpicked collections saves us months of sourcing. This year’s edition in Goa was exceptional; we discovered forward-thinking designs that align perfectly with evolving consumer demand, and we leave with both fresh inventory and stronger partnerships.”
Varghese Alukka, Managing Director, JOS Alukkas, added, “What sets the D Show apart is the quality of business it enables. As retailers, we look for trusted manufacturers, IGI-certified collections, and partners who understand the evolving market—this platform delivers all of that in three days. The 23rd edition has been our most fruitful yet.”
Mitesh Dusara, Head of Merchandising, Reliance Jewels, shared, “At Reliance Jewels, we are committed to offering our customers designs that blend trust, craftsmanship, and innovation. The IGI D Show provided an excellent platform to discover certified collections, engage with leading manufacturers, and identify emerging trends that resonate with today’s consumers. The introduction of immersive VR technology was particularly noteworthy, showcasing how digital experiences can elevate customer engagement and redefine jewelry retail. We look forward to translating these insights into curated offerings and enhanced shopping experiences for our customers across India
The event also featured a special tribute ceremony honoring three distinguished stalwarts whose leadership has been instrumental in shaping India’s gem and jewelry landscape: Ashok Minawala, Chairman Founder, GJC; K. Srinivasan, Chairman & Managing Director, Emerald Industries; and Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC; recognized for their exceptional vision, advocacy, and decades of contribution in positioning India as a global powerhouse in diamonds and jewelry.
Receiving the honor, Ashok Minawala said, “Platforms like the IGI D Show are the backbone of our industry’s growth story. I am deeply grateful for this recognition and remain committed to the progress of our trade.”
Kirit Bhansali, on being honored, remarked, “India’s jewelry industry has come a long way, and events like the D Show are a testament to the collective strength of our ecosystem. The focus on certified, quality jewelry is exactly the direction the market needs to move in, and IGI has been a steadfast partner in that journey.”
Engaging discussions across the three days further underscored the growing importance of certification, transparency, and consumer trust as non-negotiable pillars of sustainable growth in today’s evolving market.
