~Proposed ₹160 Crore Investment to Strengthen India’s Energy Storage Manufacturing Ecosystem and Advance Clean Energy Infrastructure~

Ahmedabad, Gujarat : Mecpower Solutions Limited, a Gujarat-headquartered leader in solar infrastructure and clean energy solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to set up a proposed 5 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Assembly Facility at Karjan, with an envisaged investment of approximately ₹160 crore. The proposed facility is expected to reinforce domestic energy storage capabilities and contribute to India’s evolving renewable energy landscape.

The MoU marks a significant milestone in Mecpower’s growth journey and reinforces its commitment to supporting India’s clean energy transition through investments in advanced manufacturing and energy storage infrastructure. The proposed facility is expected to contribute to the development of a robust domestic ecosystem for battery energy storage solutions, which are increasingly being recognized as critical to integrating renewable energy, improving grid resilience, and ensuring reliable power availability.
