Bengaluru: Serentica Renewables, a leading renewable energy provider in India, has entered into a Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) with Vardhman Textiles Limited to decarbonise one of the largest cotton spinners in the country. Under the agreement, Vardhman Textiles will acquire a minimum 26% equity stake in Serentica’s Special Purpose Vehicle SRIPL 32.
The project will have a total installed capacity of 80 MW, comprising 40 MW of wind capacity in Gadag, Karnataka, and 40 MW of solar capacity in Fatehgarh, Rajasthan. The project is expected to achieve a Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of approximately 75% and 177 million units of RTC renewable power will be supplied to Vardhman Textiles facilities in Himachal Pradesh. Vardhman Textiles is India’s largest vertically integrated textile manufacturer with multiple production facilities across India.

This significant increase in the use of renewable power will contribute meaningfully to reducing our carbon footprint by 125883 MT and advancing our long term decarbonisation goals. The partnership adds to Serentica’s portfolio of renewable energy solutions for commercial and industrial consumers. The company is focused on developing large scale renewable energy projects that combine wind, solar and associated power infrastructure to meet the evolving energy requirements of India’s industrial sector.
