Kolkata : On the occasion of HCG EKO Cancer Centre’s third anniversary, HCG in association with Bengal Taxi Association organized a one-day Free Health Check-up and Oral Cancer Screening for around 150 taxi drivers and their dependents. The free camp was held on August 6, 2022, at the Bengal Taxi Association, Lansdown Market, Sarat Bose Road, Bhowanipore, Kolkata.This initiative was aimed at creating awareness, prevention, and detection of general ailments besides oral cancer. The team of oncologists and general physicians diagnosed and provided consultation to the beneficiaries for various health conditions depending on the symptoms, besides holding a detailed screening for oral cancer. Oral cancer is a common cancer affecting the oral cavity, including the mouth, gums, tongue, and lips. If not treated on time, the cancer cells mutate and affect other parts of the body. The attendees will be screened for the presence of oral cancer through physical examination, blood tests, and imaging scans.
