Stitching and Embroidery are essential for earning for young and old women in traditional society. Women of tribal and remote regions as well as rural areas excelled in this art. A very low percentage of the Women of earlier generations had been able to acquire formal education, but they had a natural flair for various skills and Stitching was the most prominent one.

National growth is attributed to inclusive growth mechanisms and women too can play a pivotal role in strengthening the economy. Additionally, empowered women can add to household income and act as a support system. The entire world faced an unusual calamity in form of the COVID pandemic in 2020. Every economy suffered majorly and Bharat was no exception. Bharat has a colossal population, and women contribute to nearly 50% of the population.

Hence, Narendra Modi Government launched a scheme to strengthen the women, provide them with self-employment and make them Atma-Nirbhar, tapping the hidden skill of Stitching amongst the women-folk.

The Free-Silayi Machine Yojna was launched on 16th September 2020 and implemented on 12th April 2021 by the central government.

The objective of this Yojna was to enable women to raise additional income from home.

The prerequisite condition for the beneficiaries are :

A) She must be a Bharatiya citizen.

B) The Beneficiary must be between the age group of 20 to 40.

C) The husband of the prospective beneficiary must not be earning more than 12,000 per annum.

D) This Scheme is implied only for women belonging to economically weaker sections and laborious women.

E) Destitute widows and physically handicapped women also avail the benefit of this scheme.

The beneficiaries must have the following documents:

A) Aadhar Card of the Beneficiary 
B) Age proof 
C) Income certificate certified by The Tehsildar 
D) Identity proof 
E) Physically handicap’s certificate if applicable  
F) Destitute Widow certificate, if applicable 
G) Mobile details.

After filling in all the details, submit the form with the required documents.

During the COVID pandemic, the household economy has suffered huge losses. The crucial need of the hour was initiating inclusive growth,  inspiring every citizen to become Atma Nirnbhar and add to the GDP.

The central Government has initiated up to 50,000 Sewing Machines to be distributed in each state.

Hon. Prime Minister’s vision is not limited to the growing economy but emphasizes boosting morales of every citizen, irrespective of their gender differences.
