Mumbai : Ambit Global Private Client (Ambit GPC) has emerged as a market-leading, innovative private markets platform, having deployed INR 6,765 crore across high-conviction private market deals over the past five years with investments that are currently tracking to a value of ~INR 22,000 crore (58% IRR, 3.23x MoIC*). This differentiated sourcing capability and performance led to Ambit GPC being entrusted with an exclusive mandate to launch Poonawalla Vision Fund I (PVF I) for the Poonawalla Family in 2023, under a Category II AIF structure.
The Fund’s initial INR 500 crore capital was deployed into eight category-leading businesses, delivering a ~40%+ IRR since inception. Based on its strong performance, the Fund was opened to external participation in Q4 2025 and was oversubscribed within three weeks, attracting commitments from a distinguished base of global and domestic institutions, family offices and UHNW investors, and reaching its strategically capped size of ~INR 1,000 crore.
Curated and managed by Ambit GPC, PVF I follows a differentiated private market strategy, focused on mid- to late-stage, institutionally backed, profitable companies across BFSI, Consumer and Business Services, while retaining flexibility across IPO, Pre-IPO, QIP and select listed opportunities. The Fund seeks to partner with category-leading businesses supported by strong fundamentals and clear pathways to sustained value creation.
Commenting on the achievement, Amrita Farmahan, Chief Executive Officer, Ambit GPC, said, “The speed and quality of this fundraise are a strong endorsement of our investment philosophy, our proprietary sourcing capabilities and our disciplined execution. We are deeply grateful to our Limited Partners for their trust and long-term conviction. The oversubscription of this fund reinforces our belief that India’s private markets offer compelling opportunities for disciplined, research-led investing. We look forward to deploying this capital with focus and partnering with founders to help build enduring, category-defining businesses.”
While the successful fund close marks an important milestone, Ambit GPC emphasised that this is just the beginning of the next phase. PVF I will continue to build on the firm’s proven strategy of investing in high-growth companies, leveraging deep sectoral insights and long-standing relationships across India’s private markets ecosystem and help build the next generation of enduring market leaders. * Multiple on Invested Capital (MoIC) – Data verified by Deloitte
