Bengaluru: Ather Energy Limited, India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, today announced the introduction of its family scooter, the Ather Rizta, in Nepal. This marks the next step in Ather’s international expansion strategy, focused on strengthening its network and offering a wider range of products to meet the diverse needs of customers.

Ather entered Nepal in November 2023 with the Ather 450 series and recently had also introduced the 2025 Ather 450 in the region. Since its launch in Nepal, Ather has opened 9 Experience Centres and 6 Service Centres across the country, operated by Ather’s national distributor, Vaidya Energy Pvt. Ltd. With a focus on establishing the ecosystem around EVs, Ather has also installed 22 Ather Grid fast chargers, to support convenient and reliable EV ownership in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy Limited, said: “Nepal was our first international market, and over the last two years, we have seen strong consumer interest and a very encouraging response to the Ather 450 series. To meet the growing demand, we have also steadily expanded our footprint across the country. With the launch of the Rizta, we are tapping into a new segment of family buyers who prioritise comfort and convenience in their everyday rides. We are hoping to see the same strong response for the Rizta as we’ve seen for the 450 series.”

Building on the response Ather has received from its customers in Nepal, to the Ather 450 line up, it has now introduced the Ather Rizta in the country. The Rizta has a large and comfortable seat and offers a storage space of 56L, including a 34L under-seat capacity and an optional 22L frunk accessory. It also has a floorboard that provides the rider with ample leg space. Additionally, the Rizta comes with features like SkidControl™, which are aimed at enhancing the safety of the rider. It comes with a 7-inch TFT display dashboard and provides a connected experience with features such as Google Maps navigation, Bluetooth music and call control, made available with AtherStackTM Pro.

Ather entered the international market in November 2023 with the opening of its first Experience Centre in Nepal. In December 2024, Ather entered its second international market Sri Lanka, where it has expanded to 19 Experience Centres and 9 Service Centres across the country. In India, Ather has a retail sales network with 446 Experience Centres and 3,997 Ather Grid fast chargers and Neighbourhood charges spread across the country.
