Flipkart and Walmart hosted a Seller Meet in Delhi today. The event underscored the companies’ commitment to a digital economy where every small business can succeed with technology as an equalizer and the support of programs like Flipkart Samarth and Walmart Vriddhi that continue to drive inclusive growth.

The Walmart Marketplace: Empowering Growth Beyond Borders

The sessions provided sellers valuable insights into how to onboard as a seller on Walmart Marketplace, underscoring Walmart’s commitment to simplifying this journey and enabling international ecommerce exports. It also highlighted the incredible strides Walmart has made with Walmart Vriddhi Supplier Development Program, which continues to provide free training, expert advice, and resources covering vital aspects like digital readiness, business management, and sustainable practices, all designed to strengthen sellers’ capabilities.

Since its launch in 2019, Walmart’s supplier development program, Vriddhi has trained over 70,000 MSMEs by enabling access to digital commerce, personalized mentorship, and strategic partnerships. In its next phase Walmart Vriddhi in collaboration with its program partner aims to empower an additional 100,000 MSMEs in India by 2028.

Flipkart’s Ongoing Commitment and Innovation

The event reaffirmed Flipkart’s deep commitment to the growth of MSMEs. The company continues to support over 1.4 million sellers, providing access to a vast customer base, advanced logistics, and crucial digital tools. Over the last five years, Flipkart Samarth has provided market access and digital linkage, enabling rural artisans, women entrepreneurs, self-help groups (SHGs), LGBTQ+ sellers, and underserved communities to showcase their unique products on a national platform and achieve sustainable livelihoods.

Flipkart Samarth has positively impacted 1.8 million livelihoods, over 2,000 sellers, and conducted close to 100 workshops across India over the years. The company’s innovations, such as Flipkart EDGE, simplified Rate Cards, and AI-powered Cataloguing, are meticulously designed to reduce operational complexities, empowering sellers to focus on creating high-quality products and services.

Flipkart and Walmart recognize the pivotal role MSMEs play in shaping India’s economic landscape. The Seller Meet emphasized Flipkart and Walmart’s mission to empower every entrepreneur in India to reach global scale.
