Shree Cement Limited, one of India’s leading cement producers, inaugurated its new unit at Nigoh Hasnapur, Etah, Uttar Pradesh. The facility was formally inaugurated today by Shri Yogi Adityanath, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in the presence of distinguished leaders and dignitaries.

The Etah plant is among the largest cement grinding unit in the UP region with a capacity of 3 MTPA. The unit has been designed with advanced technology and green practices, underscoring the company’s commitment to responsible and sustainable growth. The facility will process fly ash from the adjoining Jawaharpur Thermal Power Plant, setting new benchmarks in efficiency and sustainability. Solar power capacity of 40MW has also been established. A total investment of Rs. 1000 crore has been made towards setting up of the grinding unit and the solar facility.

The Etah plant features zero-waste operations and air-cooled screw compressors to minimize water consumption. It is equipped with advanced German technology and robust pollution control systems, to ensure that the emissions remain well below norms. With fully covered raw material storage and advanced filters, it reflects Shree Cement’s strong commitment to quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.

The facility will generate direct and indirect employment opportunities, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the region and supporting the growth of ancillary industries.

Further strengthening its commitment to Uttar Pradesh, Shree Cement also announced plans to establish a medical school with a hospital in the state with an investment of ₹5 crore. This initiative will enhance access to quality healthcare. Shree Cement will also focus on infrastructure development and providing education in the nearby village of Nigoh Hasanpur, benefiting 2500 residents, reflecting the company’s broader focus on community development alongside industrial growth.

With the inauguration of the Etah unit, Shree Cement has reinforced its presence in Uttar Pradesh, where it already operates plants in Bulandshahr (cement grinding unit & 2 AAC block plants), RMC plants in Lucknow and upcoming plant in Noida. The company also plans to expand further with new facilities in Prayagraj and Gorakhpur, reaffirming its long-term commitment to the state’s progress. Aligned with its vision of sustainability, Shree Cement continues to be among the world’s most eco-friendly cement companies, with over 60% of its power requirements met through renewable sources such as solar and wind.
