Yokohama India Pvt. Ltd. has won two Gold Awards at the International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) 2025 in Taiwan for manufacturing improvement initiatives that delivered measurable gains in quality and operational efficiency. The projects were selected from over 1,500 presentations at the international level and were executed at the company’s Indian manufacturing operations before progressing through state and national quality forums to the global stage. The ICQCC jury recognised the initiatives for achieving tangible results through simple, low-cost automation and strong cross-functional collaboration on the shopfloor, reflecting disciplined problem-solving and execution.

One of the award-winning initiatives centred on a cost-efficient in-house automation solution that addressed a recurring manufacturing issue, enhanced process reliability, and improved production efficiency by around 15 percent. Developed and implemented internally, the solution helped move the production line from multiple rejections to zero defects and was delivered well ahead of schedule before being standardised across multiple lines. The jury commended the clarity of execution, disciplined problem-solving approach, and effective coordination between production, quality, and maintenance teams, noting these as key to sustaining the improvements.

Commenting on the achievement, Anil Gupta, Vice Chairman, Yokohama India, said, “Winning double gold on the global stage validates what we’ve believe in—that practical, employee-led innovation can compete with the best in the world. Our teams didn’t just solve problems; they created solutions that have become new standards across our production lines. This is the Yokohama India manufacturing culture at work.”
