Kolkata : The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) proudly celebrated the historic victory of Team India at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 with a spectacular decorative display at the iconic Eden Gardens. The vibrant illumination and specially designed backdrop honouring the Indian women’s cricket team created a dazzling spectacle, drawing admiration from cricket fans across the city.

The front façade of the stadium was adorned with striking visuals of the victorious Indian team, bathed in radiant blue lights to reflect the spirit of pride and achievement. The decoration stood as a tribute to the women’s team’s remarkable performance, which brought immense glory to the nation and inspired millions of aspiring cricketers.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Sourav Ganguly, Former Indian Cricketer and President of CAB, said, “As the home of cricket in Bengal, we wanted to celebrate their success and express our heartfelt congratulations through this special tribute. Twenty years ago, when women’s cricket struggled due to lack of infrastructure, not many were confident about its future. Kudos to all the women who fought hard to take the game to the next level. When I became the BCCI President, I was thrilled to work towards the upliftment of women’s cricket and did my best to strengthen its foundation. Winning the 50-over World Cup is just the beginning – women’s cricket will go even bigger from here.”

The Cricket Association of Bengal has always been at the forefront of promoting both men’s and women’s cricket. This celebration underscores CAB’s commitment to recognising the achievements of India’s women cricketers and supporting the continued growth of women’s cricket in the country.
