Shree Cement, through its Shree Foundation Trust, has launched a tailoring skill development programme in Kodla and neighboring villages to support rural women seeking sustainable income opportunities. The initiative addresses the persistent challenge of unemployment among women in the region, which often limits their ability to contribute to household earnings and improve their families’ quality of life.

A total of 64 women completed the training, of whom 45 have already begun earning between ₹1,000 and ₹6,000 per month through tailoring work. This additional income has strengthened family financial stability and improved access to education for children. Participants shared that the programme has boosted their confidence, independence, and decision-making ability within the household.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Rajesh Vijay, Unit Head Kodla, Shree Cement, said, “At Shree Cement, the most meaningful impact comes from empowering communities from within, particularly women who are central to a family’s progress. Our initiative in Kodla is designed to help women gain skills that open pathways to sustainable livelihoods and personal growth. The success of the tailoring training programme reflects our commitment to creating opportunities that strengthen families, enhance dignity, and support long-term rural development.”

The tailoring programme has positively influenced Kodla and surrounding areas, helping women earn sustainable incomes, build confidence, and make decisions that benefit their households. Shree Cement remains committed to supporting rural communities through such initiatives, creating opportunities that empower women, strengthen families, and foster long-term community growth.
