New Delhi :The ten-day Diwali Haat 2025, supported by NABARD, successfully concluded today at the Emporia Complex, Connaught Place, with a vibrant valedictory ceremony that celebrated India’s rich handicraft traditions and the spirit of rural entrepreneurship.
The event was graced by eminent dignitaries including Shri Rajesh Kumar, General Manager and Convenor, SLBC Delhi, and Shri Punit Jain, Director, NIBSCOM, along with senior officials from Banks and Central & State Government. Artisans from across the country were felicitated with certificates of participation and appreciation.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Nabin Kumar Roy, General Manager/Officer-in-Charge, NABARD, New Delhi Regional Office, emphasized NABARD’s continuous efforts in empowering rural artisans, promoting GI-based livelihoods, and fostering entrepreneurship at the grassroots. He reiterated that Diwali Haat 2025 embodied the spirit of “Viksit Bharat”, linking traditional skills to modern markets and creating pathways for an Atmanirbhar Grameen Bharat.
Artisans from Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal shared heartfelt experiences, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to showcase their products on such a grand platform. For many, it was their first exposure to direct retail interaction, helping them understand fair pricing and the benefits of eliminating intermediaries through direct market linkages.
Organised from 15–25 October 2025, the Diwali Haat brought together over 100 artisans from 21 states, presenting a vibrant display of Geographical Indication (GI) and traditional rural products. The exhibition recorded sales exceeding ₹ 60 lakhs, reflecting growing consumer preference for authentic, handmade, and eco-friendly products in alignment with the Government’s “Vocal for Local” initiative.
The success of Diwali Haat 2025 stands as a testament to NABARD’s commitment to preserving India’s artisanal heritage while promoting inclusive, sustainable livelihoods. Blending tradition with trend and culture with commerce, the event truly illuminated the path toward an Atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat, where rural craftsmanship continues to shine at the heart of India’s progress story.
