Mumbai,New Delhi: Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of India’s leading public sector banks, marked its initiative towards International Women’s Day by reaffirming its commitment to women’s financial empowerment with the launch of the “PNB Digi Shrestha Digital Loan Scheme.” This initiative is designed exclusively for existing women customers who are members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM).

Aligned with the national vision of creating ‘Lakhpati Didis’ and fostering rural entrepreneurship, the Digi Shrestha scheme promotes digital banking adoption while ensuring seamless, transparent, and fast access to institutional credit. The scheme offers loan amounts of up to ₹5 lakh, a fully digital sanction and account opening process, minimal documentation, and a simple, user-friendly application journey.

By leveraging technology, PNB is strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in rural India, supporting women-led enterprises, and advancing financial inclusion. On this Women’s Day, the Bank celebrates the resilience, ambition, and leadership of women across the country, reiterating its commitment to stand by them at every step of their growth journey.
