The Department of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra will host an exclusive Maharashtra Tourism Roadshow in New Delhi on 26 February 2026 at the Grand Ballroom, Radisson Blue Hotel, Dwarka. The roadshow marks a dedicated, face-to-face engagement with Delhi’s travel trade – one of India’s most influential outbound markets – and is strategically timed alongside Maharashtra’s participation at SATTE 2026, being held at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, from 25 to 27 February 2026.
Delhi is not just India’s capital – it is the nerve centre of the country’s travel trade ecosystem. The city’s tour operators, travel agents, destination management companies, and inbound specialists collectively influence the travel decisions of millions of Indians and a significant share of international visitors. The Maharashtra Tourism Roadshow in Delhi is a deliberate effort to meet these decision-makers on their own ground — to present new tourism products, share destination updates, and explore partnership opportunities in a setting that encourages open dialogue and direct business conversations. Senior officials from the Directorate of Tourism and MTDC will lead the delegation, engaging personally with trade representatives across leisure, corporate, and MICE segments.
The roadshow agenda has been curated to give trade participants an in-depth look at Maharashtra’s diverse and evolving tourism portfolio. Presentations and one-on-one sessions will cover the full spectrum of what the state has to offer – from UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the Ajanta and Ellora Caves and the legendary forts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, to the idyllic beaches of the Konkan coast, the popular hill stations of Mahabaleshwar and Lonavala, 12 UNESCO forts, Kumbhmela and the rich wildlife corridors of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. The roadshow will also present the burgeoning opportunities in Maharashtra’s urban tourism hubs — Mumbai, Pune, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) – along with emerging niches in rural tourism, spiritual circuits, adventure travel, and eco-tourism, giving trade partners a comprehensive and current view of the state’s offering.
The timing of the roadshow is backed by compelling numbers. Maharashtra continues to lead India in foreign tourist arrivals, welcoming approximately 3.705 million international visitors in 2024 and commanding 17.69% of all foreign tourist arrivals in the country. Domestic tourist footfall has shown a similarly strong upward trajectory. For Delhi’s travel trade, these numbers represent real commercial opportunity – Maharashtra is a high-demand destination that continues to grow, and the roadshow is designed to help trade partners capitalise on this demand with the right products, the right connections, and direct access to the people who run Maharashtra’s tourism machinery. Curated B2B sessions, product briefings, and networking opportunities will be central to the evening’s programme.
Speaking to the media, Sri. Shambhuraj Desai, Minister of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra, said, “Maharashtra is at a pivotal turning point, and our presence in Delhi today reflects our commitment to making the state India’s premier tourism hub. Through strategic policy shifts and a renewed focus on cultural and eco-tourism, we are opening doors for investors and travel partners alike. This roadshow is more than an event; it is an invitation to Tourism trade leaders to join us in this journey of transformation. By working together, we aren’t just selling a destination – we are creating a world-class tourism ecosystem that benefits every stakeholder in the industry.”
On this Occasion, Sri. Sanjay Khandare, Principal Secretary, Tourism Department, said, “Our roadmap for Maharashtra focuses on seamless connectivity and high-impact infrastructure that elevates the traveler’s journey. We recognize that the Delhi travel trade is a vital bridge between these developments and the end consumer. By sharing our latest projects and streamlined processes directly with you, we aim to ensure that our partners have the tools they need to succeed. Our goal is to foster a transparent, data-driven partnership that translates our new tourism initiatives into tangible growth for the entire travel community.”
Speaking to the media, Dr. B.N.Patil, IAS, Director, Directorate of Tourism (DoT), said, “ Delhi’s travel trade has always been among Maharashtra’s most valued partners, and this roadshow is our way of reinforcing that relationship in person. We are not here simply to present a destination – we are here to have a real conversation with the people who bring Maharashtra to life for travellers across India and beyond. There is a great deal happening in Maharashtra Tourism right now – new products, new infrastructure, new experiences – and we want Delhi’s trade community to be the first to know about it, and the first to build it into their offerings. We believe the partnerships forged here will directly shape the experiences of thousands of travellers in the months ahead.”
On this Occasion, Sri. Neelesh Gatne, Managing Director, MTDC, said, “ Maharashtra is entering a transformative era of tourism, and our partners in Delhi are the vital link that connects this vision to the traveler. Beyond our iconic heritage sites, we are unveiling a new Maharashtra – one defined by world-class infrastructure and curated, niche experiences that cater to the modern explorer. This roadshow isn’t just about showcasing updates; it’s about co-creating the future of Indian travel. By equipping Delhi’s trade leaders with these new products first, we are ensuring that when a traveler asks for something extraordinary, Maharashtra is the answer they receive.”
Beyond presentations and product briefings, the Maharashtra Tourism Roadshow in Delhi is fundamentally about relationship-building. Roadshows of this nature allow Maharashtra Tourism to listen as much as they present – understanding what Delhi trade partner’s needs, what their clients are asking for, and how the state can respond with better products, smoother itineraries, and more collaborative engagement. As Maharashtra continues to develop its tourism infrastructure, expand its responsible tourism footprint, and introduce new experiences across its districts, the Delhi trade community will be among the first to know – and the first to benefit.
