Bangalore: The Mathematics Division, School of Advanced Sciences and Languages (SASL), VIT Bhopal University successfully organized a three-day International Workshop titled “Numerical & Optimization Techniques for Machine Learning in Real-World Applications” from 11th to 13th February 2026, in online mode. Technical sponsorship for the workshop was extended by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST), Bhopal.

The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between foundational mathematical principles and their applications in Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). It brought together eminent academicians, researchers, and industry experts from premier institutions across India and Europe, creating a rich interdisciplinary learning environment.

The inaugural session was held on 11th February 2026 and was graced by university dignitaries, faculty members, and participants. The program began with Saraswati Vandana, followed by the welcome address by Dr. Hemant Kumar Nashine, Dean, SASL. The workshop introduction was delivered by Dr. Anant Kant Shukla (Convener), and the Vote of Thanks was presented by Dr. Neha Choubey, Convener of the workshop. Special appreciation was extended to MPCST, Bhopal for technical sponsorship and to the university management for institutional support.

Over the three days, expert lectures covered a wide range of advanced topics including, Statistics behind Large Language Models, Fuzzy logic and nonlinear differential equations, Computational intelligence, Spectral and numerical methods in ML, Dynamical systems, chaos and bifurcation, Möbius transform in robust ML, Game theory applications, Mathematical modeling in biological systems, Evolving AI landscape, Security assurance frameworks etc.

Renowned speakers from institutions such as IIT Roorkee, IIT Delhi, Chennai Mathematical Institute, South Asian University, ABV-IIITM Gwalior, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, and international research organizations delivered expert sessions, enriching the academic discourse.

The workshop concluded with a valedictory session, certificate distribution, and participant feedback. A final assessment and quiz were conducted to reinforce learning outcomes. Participants appreciated the academic depth of the sessions and expressed strong interest in similar future programs.

The workshop stood as a significant academic milestone, strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration and reinforcing VIT Bhopal University’s commitment to research, innovation, and advanced scientific learning.
