New Delhi : Delhi-NCR has emerged as India’s frontrunner in home interior spending, with homeowners increasingly treating design as a strategic investment rather than a discretionary luxury. Recent findings by Magicbricks highlight that residents in the region are spending an average of ₹5.8 lakh per home on interiors—higher than other key metros like Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

This trend is not just about aesthetics; well-executed interiors are now driving tangible financial gains, with homes boasting modern design fetching up to 70 percent higher resale values and nearly 45 percent higher rental income.

Homeowners in the region are also spending more than the national average, with ₹580 per sq. ft. allocated to interiors compared to ₹560 nationwide. Bedrooms and kitchens continue to dominate the investment focus, together accounting for over half of the total budget, while wardrobes and modular kitchen solutions remain the most sought-after elements.

Increasingly, consumers are also opting for comprehensive “full-home design” services, preferring end-to-end solutions over isolated upgrades, a shift largely driven by structured, tech-enabled platforms.

Nationally too, interiors sector is set for significant expansion. The market, which is currently valued at USD 12.33 billion is projected to reach USD 24.52 billion by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 12%. This significant growth is fuelled by rising disposable incomes, rapid urbanization, and a growing consumer desire for personalized and functional living spaces.
