Mumbai/Kuwait : Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL), a leading Indian infrastructure company, has achieved a significant international breakthrough by securing a $225.5 million (KWD 69.23 million) project from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). This strategic win marks another milestone in MEIL’s expanding global presence in the energy sector.
The project involves the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of a New Gas Sweetening and Sulphur Recovery Facility (NGSF) in the oil fields of West Kuwait. It will be developed under a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model, with an option for KOC to repurchase the facility at a later stage.
Strengthening India’s Global Infrastructure Leadership
The facility is scheduled for completion within 790 days, followed by a five-year operation and maintenance phase managed by MEIL. The processed gas will be dehydrated and transported to the Mina Ahmadi Refinery’s LPG plant via KOC’s pipeline network. The project aligns with Kuwait’s commitment to clean fuel production and environmental safety standards.
This contract further reinforces MEIL’s footprint in the Middle East’s oil and gas sector. The company has already demonstrated its expertise in hydrocarbon infrastructure through Sulphur Recovery Unit (SRU) projects at the Rajasthan and Mongol refineries.
Global Reach, Indian Excellence
MEIL’s portfolio spans across Mongolia, Tanzania, Italy, and other countries, covering critical infrastructure in drinking water, energy, and hydrocarbons. These international ventures reflect India’s growing influence in global infrastructure development and MEIL’s role as a trusted partner in delivering world-class engineering solutions.
With this landmark project, MEIL continues to exemplify India’s capability to deliver complex, high-value energy infrastructure on the global stage — a testament to the country’s rising stature in sustainable and strategic development.
