Mumbai: Motorola, a global leader in mobile phone innovation and India’s leading AI smartphone brand, hosted the motorola signature Film Festival in Mumbai recently. The festival served as a curated celebration of new-age Indian filmmakers, bringing together cinema and smartphone innovation while reinforcing Motorola’s commitment to empowering creative expression through technology.

The festival was attended by renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, along with senior Motorola leadership including Shivam Ranjan, Head of Marketing, APAC, Motorola, and Ruben Castano, Vice President, Design, Brand and CX, Motorola Mobility. The event showcased original short films by four emerging directors – Amar Vaswani, Peekansh S. Gosain, Riya Kulkarni, and Shikha Jain, each of whom has previously worked as assistant directors on notable Indian films. Through their films, the directors presented distinct creative voices that reflect the evolving storytelling landscape of Indian cinema, while demonstrating how cinema-grade tools can unlock new creative possibilities.

At the centre of the festival was the motorola signature smartphone, with all films shot on the device – India’s no.1 camera phone as per the DXOMARK rating 2026^. The festival demonstrated how cinema-grade video features such as 8K Dolby Vision®  recording, 4K 60 FPS capture across all cameras, and advanced 3.5° optical image stabilization enabled filmmakers to shoot dynamic, high-resolution footage with rich color depth and stable output even in challenging lighting and movement-heavy scenes.

These capabilities allowed the directors to focus on storytelling and performance, while retaining cinematic flexibility in post-production, proving that powerful visual narratives can now be created without traditional, large-scale filmmaking setups.

Speaking at the event, Imtiaz Ali, filmmaker, said, “Congratulations to everyone involved. Each film brought its own unique flavor, and I’m deeply inspired by the creativity on display. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn and to witness how Motorola is not just celebrating its technology, but also embracing art, human sensitivity, and filmmaking. It’s truly rewarding to see such innovative voices being supported and celebrated.”

Commenting on the initiative, Shivam Ranjan, Head of Marketing, APAC, Motorola, said, “With the motorola signature Film Festival, we wanted to create a platform that celebrates filmmakers who are shaping the future of Indian storytelling. This initiative reflects our belief that meaningful stories are driven by vision and supported by the right technology. motorola signature comes with the best camera lenses with Triple Sony LYTIA™ sensors and 8K Dolby Vision®  video recording and is designed to enable creators with camera capabilities that help translate ideas into compelling cinematic experiences, making filmmaking more accessible for the next generation of storytellers.”

The motorola Signature will be available in 12GB RAM + 256GB, 16GM RAM + 512GB and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage variants and will come in two stunning Pantone™ curated color options — PANTONE Martini Olive and PANTONE Carbon. All variants feature a refined, luxurious fabric -inspired finishes crafted on an aircraft-grade aluminum frame, enhancing both grip and sophistication.
