Hyderabad: The Pink Power Run 3.0 drew a record 35,000 participants for breast cancer awareness, but one runner captured special attention – Ramabai Ranveer, a 47 year old mother from Ambajogai, Beed district.

Organised jointly by Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL) and the Sudha Reddy Foundation, the event highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare and early cancer detection. Ramabai, who earlier made headlines for running 5 km barefoot to support her children’s education, joined the Hyderabad run as a symbol of grassroots determination and women’s empowerment.

The mega fitness initiative featured 21K, 10K, 5K and 3K races, with elite athletes from over a dozen countries. Winners included Suneel Kumar and Sonam in the Half Marathon, while ₹75 lakh in cash prizes were awarded across categories.

From children to senior citizens, persons with disabilities and neurodivergent participants, the event showcased inclusivity and community spirit. Ramabai’s inspiring journey underscores how ordinary women from Maharashtra are contributing to national movements for health and cancer awareness.
