Gujarat: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat for enhancing the quality of education and healthcare throughout the state. The comprehensive initiatives underscore TKM’s unwavering commitment to sustainable community development and creating lasting impact in the lives of people.

The MOU was signed in the presence of Shri. Amit Shah, Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Government of India, Shri. Bhupendrabhai Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Gujarat, Senior Govt. Officials, Mrs.  Geetanjali Vikram Kirloskar, Chairperson & Managing Director, Kirloskar Systems Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Vikram Gulati, Country Head & Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Governance, TKM, Mr. Simant Arun, Vice President, West Region, Sales-Service-User Car, TKM and other senior leadership from Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

Anchored in a broader vision of improving reach, inclusivity and long-term development, TKM’s initiative brings together targeted interventions in community learning, digital education and rural healthcare infrastructure in the form of community libraries, mobile computer education, advanced technical training and critical medical equipment support.

As a part of this initiative, TKM has contributed to setting up community libraries designed as an accessible learning environment to build early reading habits. The thoughtfully designed spaces are equipped with air conditioners, CCTV surveillance and solar power supply, ensuring a comfortable and sustainable setting for over 3 lakh learners of all ages.

Extending access to digital learning, TKM has also introduced a Mobile Computer Education Electric Bus designed to impart computer education and essential digital skills to students in rural areas of Surat. The initiative aims to strengthen familiarity and knowledge of digital tools and lay the foundation for future academic growth and opportunities. The mobile bus will support five blocks of the Surat district, benefiting approximately 8000 students.

Further strengthening its focus on youth skilling and employability, TKM has implemented the Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) at Government ITI, Jamnagar. The T-TEP initiative is designed to equip youth with advanced automotive service and maintenance skills, enhance employability and bridge the industry-academia skill gap. The program will cover 29 trades, including Mechanic Motor Vehicle (MMV), Fitter and Painter to benefit approximately 3,700 students.

TKM’s intervention will also provide essential medical equipment to Community Health Centres in Rajkot. This ensures that advanced medical equipment is accessible to the rural population, and healthcare can be made affordable, accessible and community-centric for approximately 6.5 lakh community members.
