Motorola is using AI not just as a smartphone capability, but as a creative medium to redefine advertising conventions

Mumbai/New Delhi: Motorola, a global leader in mobile technology and innovation and one of India’s leading AI smartphone brands, is taking its commitment to innovation beyond the smartphone experience with a new approach to storytelling using Artificial Intelligence to reimagine how films are created. Building on its belief that technology should unlock new forms of creativity, Motorola has produced two 100% AI-Created films, marking an evolution in how the brand uses emerging technology to turn product propositions into engaging cultural narratives.

The film created for the motorola edge 70 max is built around the campaign thought “Max Every Move”, positioning the smartphone as a performance powerhouse designed for people who want to make the most of every moment. Set against an aspirational, cinematic AI-generated world, the film uses the playful visual metaphor of sloths to represent the things that slow people down, creating a striking contrast with a protagonist who refuses to pause and continues to seize every opportunity throughout his day. The unconventional narrative allows the brand to communicate the idea of performance in a way that is engaging and visually appealing.

The film showcases the smartphone’s holistic performance through the Snapdragon® 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, the brightest Quad HD+ display with up to 7000 nits, the massive 7100mAh battery offering up to 58 hours of battery life, and the segment’s only magnetic wireless charging, demonstrating how processing power, an immersive display, endurance and effortless charging come together to create an uncompromised experience. The film also features Motorola Qira, highlighting its ability to move from questions to answers immediately. Together, these elements position the motorola edge 70 max as a smartphone built to help consumers max every move.

The film created for the moto g max takes a distinctly more playful approach through the creative idea “Got It, Flaunt It.” Built around the confidence of owning a smartphone that looks as good as it performs, the film turns the product’s premium design and camera capabilities into an entertaining visual narrative. The idea is brought to life with a playful, larger-than-life visual narrative that celebrates the instinct to show off when you have something worth flaunting. The use of the iconic Bollywood song “Baar Baar Dekho” adds nostalgia while giving the storytelling a contemporary Gen Z appeal, creating a bridge between the product, popular culture and AI-led creativity.

The film uses this entertaining premise to spotlight the moto g max’s Luxury Satin-inspired Finish, Pantone curate colours alongside its segment-leading 50MP Sony LYTIA™ 600 Camera System. Its AI-powered photography capabilities further reinforce the film’s message of having a device that delivers capabilities worth showing off.

Commenting on the initiative, Ipshita Chowdhury, Head of Marketing, Motorola India, said, “At Motorola, innovation has always been about looking beyond what is possible today and imagining what comes next. With our 100% AI-created films, we are bringing that philosophy into the world of creativity. These films represent our curiosity to experiment with emerging technologies and explore how AI can unlock entirely new ways of bringing ideas to life. We fundamentally believe great marketing is a balanced recipe of art and science, the left and the right brain. AI in communication and the creative space enables marketers to do just that, unlocking new possibilities for creativity, communication and storytelling. As we continue to push the boundaries of AI, we want to demonstrate that innovation is not just about the technology we put into our products, but also how we use technology to create, communicate and inspire.”

The move also reflects Motorola’s broader approach to AI, one that goes beyond putting AI features inside devices to exploring how the technology can influence the way people create, express and experience ideas. The two films showcase the brand’s willingness to experiment with emerging technologies and apply them in meaningful, consumer-facing ways. Each project builds on the possibilities of the technology, helping the brand understand how AI can reshape storytelling, visual expression and the creative production process.
