Andhra Pradesh development is being positioned as an important part of India’s broader journey towards becoming a developed nation. Andhra Pradesh IT & HRD Minister Nara Lokesh said India has reached a stage where it can achieve developed-nation status within the next decade, describing the coming 10 years as a “golden decade” for the country.
Addressing the Pan-IIT Andhra Pradesh Summit 2026 in Vijayawada, Lokesh said the Andhra Pradesh government aims to build a developed state while contributing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat.
Andhra Pradesh Development: Nara Lokesh Highlights India’s Growth Opportunity
Minister Nara Lokesh compared India’s current development opportunity with the growth journeys of several developed economies.
According to Lokesh:
The US and Europe took nearly 100 years to reach their present level of development.
Dubai achieved rapid development in around 30 years.
Singapore transformed its economy in about 25 years.
India, he said, is now at a stage where one decade could be enough to become a developed nation. Calling the next 10 years a “golden decade,” Lokesh said India has an opportunity to accelerate economic growth and development at an unprecedented pace.
Andhra Pradesh Government’s 3S Development Strategy
Lokesh said the Andhra Pradesh government’s development strategy is based on a 3S mantra — Speed, Service and Stability.
Speed
The minister said Andhra Pradesh is moving rapidly and described the state government as “a team in a hurry.”
He stressed that the government has a five-year mandate from the electorate and therefore needs to deliver tangible results within that period.
Service
The focus, according to Lokesh, is on translating government initiatives and investments into meaningful outcomes for citizens.
The Andhra Pradesh government wants projects to move beyond announcements and create measurable economic activity and employment opportunities.
Stability
Lokesh also emphasized the importance of creating an environment where investments can translate into projects on the ground, supporting long-term Andhra Pradesh economic growth.
Andhra Pradesh Government Focuses on Grounding Investments
A key focus of the Andhra Pradesh development strategy, Lokesh said, is ensuring that investments and MoUs translate into actual projects.
He said the government is not interested in merely signing MoUs and leaving them on paper. Instead, the focus is on grounding projects, creating employment and delivering tangible development outcomes.
The minister said the ultimate objective is to convert investments and projects into jobs and economic opportunities for people across Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh’s Role in Viksit Bharat
The Andhra Pradesh government aims to become a developed state while contributing to India’s larger Viksit Bharat vision.
Lokesh’s remarks at the Pan-IIT Andhra Pradesh Summit 2026 underline the state’s ambition to attract investments, accelerate project execution and strengthen employment generation.
With the next decade being described as a “golden decade” for India, Andhra Pradesh development is being positioned as an important component of the country’s broader developed-nation ambition.
