Agreement marks a key execution milestone for the company’s 150 MW SECI-awarded Round-the-Clock Renewable Energy Project in Karnataka

Bengaluru: BC Jindal Group, one of India’s leading business conglomerates, today announced that its power company, Jindal India Power Limited, has signed a Term Sheet with SANY Wind Energy India Private Limited for the supply of 160 MW Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs). The agreement marks a significant milestone in the execution of Jindal India Power Limited’s 150 MW Round-the-Clock (RTC) renewable energy project awarded by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), which is being developed in Davanagere, Karnataka.

The Wind Turbine Generators will form a key component of the integrated renewable energy project, which combines wind, solar and battery energy storage systems to deliver firm, reliable clean power on a round-the-clock basis. By integrating these complementary technologies, the project is designed to address the variability associated with standalone renewable sources while ensuring a dependable supply of renewable energy.

Commenting on the development, a spokesperson for BC Jindal Group said, “The signing of the Term Sheet with SANY Wind Energy India marks an important milestone in the execution of our SECI-awarded Round-the-Clock renewable energy project. RTC power depends on the effective integration of wind, solar and battery storage to ensure reliable clean energy around the clock. This agreement is a significant step towards delivering that vision while reinforcing our commitment to building a diversified and sustainable energy portfolio.”

The signing of the Term Sheet moves the project from the planning phase into execution and represents an important milestone in Jindal India Power’s renewable energy journey. The agreement reflects Jindal India Power’s continued focus on strengthening its energy portfolio across both renewable and conventional power.

Recently, the company also signed a MoU with The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) for the procurement of high-quality coal from the Naini Coal Mine, reinforcing long-term fuel security for its thermal power operations while advancing its clean energy ambitions through strategic renewable investments.

Jindal India Power Limited continues to expand its presence across the energy value chain through investments that enhance energy security, operational efficiency and sustainability, supporting India’s growing power requirements with a balanced and future-ready generation portfolio.
