Bengaluru: The Climate Pledge (TCP), co-founded by Amazon, today announced the launch of SUPEREV, a mobile app designed to accelerate commercial EV adoption in India. Developed in collaboration with Indian energy tech company Pulse Energy, SUPEREV brings key players across the commercial EV sector on a single platform, making it easier to access charging, leasing and financing services, while improving demand visibility, and supporting better investment and infrastructure planning to scale EV adoption in India.
SUPEREV completed a pilot with fleet operators and service providers and today connects users to more than 20,000 chargers through 85+ charge point operators – over 75% of India’s network. Fleet operators, including Blueline, Astranova and Athena, have been onboard, alongside vehicle, financing and leasing partners. It will continue onboarding fleet operators and service providers as it expands across India.

From Charging to Financing: Simplifying EV Fleet Operations
SUPEREV simplifies access to charging across multiple networks, addressing a key challenge in commercial EV operations. Through the app, drivers can discover chargers, initiate charging sessions, and pay through UPI (Unified Payments Interface) across participating charging networks, reducing the need to manage separate apps and accounts. Fleet operators can also discover and contract charging infrastructure, request locations for new charging stations, procure or lease EVs, access financing, and connect their operations with verified renewable energy. For charging and other service providers, the app provides greater visibility into demand, helping them identify opportunities to invest in new locations and expand capacity where it is needed most.
“India has already shown the world what open, interoperable digital infrastructure can do with UPI. SUPEREV brings the same playbook to fleet electrification one app where a driver can charge across 85 networks, a fleet can finance and lease vehicles, and a farmers’ surplus solar can power a delivery van. JOULE: Supporting Electrification at Scale
SUPEREV was developed to help JOULE (Joint Operation Unifying Last-mile Electrification), a joint action initiative led by The Climate Pledge to accelerate the transition to zero-emission commercial mobility in India, solve demand aggregation challenges in a unique way. JOULE brings together fleet operators, vehicle manufacturers, charging providers, financiers, and other businesses to develop and test solutions that address barriers to commercial fleet electrification. Rather than addressing these barriers in isolation, JOULE aggregates demand from fleet operators and creates greater visibility for infrastructure and service providers. This helps businesses identify where electric vehicles, charging infrastructure and other services are needed and supports more coordinated deployment across the EV industry.
Through SUPEREV, JOULE is also testing how commercial EV charging demand can be connected with renewable energy supply. Using the India Energy Stack, an open digital infrastructure developed by the Ministry of Power, SUPEREV can connect renewable energy producers with charging operators. This could allow distributed renewable energy producers, including farmers with surplus solar power to supply electricity for EV charging. The pilot is testing how commercial EV charging demand can be connected more directly with renewable energy supply.
