New Delhi: Vande Bharatam, Mr Gautam Adani’s nationwide initiative to discover and celebrate India’s grassroots innovators and entrepreneurs, is set to make its television debut on Saturday, 29 August. The show will air across three NDTV channels simultaneously – NDTV Profit, NDTV (English) and NDTV India – bringing the stories of India’s most compelling entrepreneurial talent to living rooms across the country.
The premiere episode, 45 minutes in length, will air on 29 August at 7:30 PM on NDTV Profit, 7:00 PM on NDTV (English) and 10:00 PM on NDTV India, with same-night and next-day repeats available across all three channels. Subsequent episodes of 25 minutes each will follow on a regular schedule through September, with the Grand Finale – a 45-minute special – airing on 17 September.
Fronting the show as its Ambassador and Host will be acclaimed actor, television host and entrepreneur Mr Rajeev Khandelwal. Known for his work across television, cinema and digital platforms, Khandelwal brings both hosting experience and a wide audience connect to a show that will profile innovators from metropolitan centres, emerging cities, small towns and rural backgrounds alike.
The television run gives Vande Bharatam its broadest reach yet. Since applications opened on 24 June at vandebharatam.org, the initiative has drawn participation from innovators across all 36 States and Union Territories and more than 800 districts in India as well as from Indians in 37 countries worldwide. A select number of finalists, selected through a multi-stage process, travelled to Ahmedabad for a week-long immersive programme of mentorship and industry interactions, before the best among them shared the stage at the Grand Finale with Mr Gautam Adani himself.
Speaking as the show prepares to go on air, Mr. Gautam Adani, Chairman, Adani Group, said: “When we launched Vande Bharatam, we set out to find the innovators and entrepreneurs that India has not yet heard of. Now, television gives us the opportunity to take their stories into every home in the country. This is not a show about success; it is a show about the courage it takes to begin. I hope every young person watching finds something of themselves in the people they see on screen, and I hope every viewer from a small town or a village realises that the next idea to change India could come from them.”
Vande Bharatam was launched by Mr Gautam Adani from Ahmedabad on 24 June, on the occasion of his 64th birthday, with a vision to discover entrepreneurs and problem-solvers whose ideas deserve recognition, support and a larger platform. With the show now set to premiere on 29 August, audiences across India will, for the first time, get to meet the innovators at the heart of this movement — their journeys, their ideas and the conviction that brought them to a national stage.
