Mumbai : Škoda Auto India has introduced the all-new Kodiaq RS, marking the arrival of its high-performance RS badge in the premium SUV segment for the first time in India. Limited to just 50 units, the entire batch was sold out within six minutes, underscoring the strong demand for the brand’s performance-focused offerings. The launch coincides with two significant milestones for the brand: over 50 years of the RS badge and 125 years of Škoda’s motorsport legacy.
With the Kodiaq RS, the brand also set in motion its ‘Surrender’ campaign, inviting customers to Surrender to the Kodiaq RS’s motorsport legacy, its performance, its luxury and its off-road abilities among others.
Commenting on the launch, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said, “The RS badge represents an iconic performance legacy. Bringing it to our flagship 4X4, all-terrain, 7-seater SUV combines luxury, capability, and motorsport DNA in one offering. The overwhelming response, with all units sold out in minutes, reflects the strong enthusiasm among customers.”
Surrender to performance
The Kodiaq RS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI engine delivering 195 kW (265 PS) and 400 Nm of torque. This turbocharged performance is channelled to all four wheels through Škoda Auto’s signature 7-speed DSG transmission. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, the Kodiaq RS stands as the quickest Škoda in India, with a top speed of 231 km/h.
Its advanced all-wheel-drive system employs an electro-hydraulically controlled inter-axle multi-plate clutch, supported by a network of sensors that continuously monitor driving conditions. The system intelligently distributes power between the front and rear axles, ensuring optimal traction, stability, and performance across varying terrains and driving scenarios.
Surrender to the experience
The Kodiaq RS comes equipped with progressive steering as standard, enhancing steering precision while improving low-speed manoeuvrability by reducing the number of lock-to-lock turns. This results in a more direct and responsive driving feel. Additionally, the SUV features Škoda Auto’s latest-generation Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) Plus. This system enables faster shock absorber response and offers a wider range of damping characteristics, delivering an optimal balance between driving performance and ride comfort. DCC Plus is complemented by Driving Mode Select, allowing drivers to tailor the vehicle’s dynamics to their preferences. Modes include Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, and Snow, along with a dedicated Off-Road mode, each adjusting the electronic dampers and vehicle behaviour to suit varying driving conditions
Surrender to the presence
In true RS fashion, the Kodiaq RS features subtle yet purposeful design enhancements that underscore its performance credentials. Signature RS elements include glossy black exterior accents on the grille frame, ORVMs, upper window frames, roof rails, and D-pillar, creating a strong and cohesive visual identity. The SUV is distinguished by a uniquely styled front bumper with blacked-out elements, alongside an exclusive front grille featuring a horizontal light strip.
At the rear, a full-width reflector typical of Škoda RS models accentuates its stance, complemented by blacked-out Škoda lettering and model badging on the tailgate. The rear bumper and side sills are finished in body colour, while polished stainless-steel exhaust tips add a sporty touch. The redesigned RS badge is prominently displayed on both the grille and tailgate, while the standard 20-inch Elias alloy wheels with a polished black finish are exclusive to the RS. The Kodiaq RS is offered in four striking exterior colours: Moon White, Magic Black, Velvet Red, and Steel Grey.
Surrender to the legacy
The Škoda 130 RS, introduced in 1975, was the first model to wear the now-iconic RS badge. Derived from the Škoda 110 R and based on the 180 RS and 200 RS prototypes of 1974, the 130 RS quickly established itself as a motorsport legend. Its achievements included a remarkable one-two finish at the 1977 Rallye Monte Carlo, along with multiple victories in international rallying and the European Touring Car Championship. The RS lineage transitioned to road cars in 2000 with the launch of the Octavia RS, bringing motorsport-inspired performance to everyday driving. The Octavia RS made its India debut in 2004 and has since built a strong following among enthusiasts.
In 2025, Škoda introduced the latest fourth-generation Octavia RS globally, followed by the arrival of the Kodiaq RS in 2026. This marks the first time an SUV and the Kodiaq nameplate have carried the RS badge in India, expanding the brand’s performance legacy into the premium SUV segment.
Surrender to pedigree
Motorsport has been integral to Škoda Auto’s identity for over a century, dating back to its first motorcycle race participation in 1901. This racing pedigree is reflected across the brand’s entire product portfolio, with turbocharged engines and seamless automatic transmissions delivering performance that feels equally at home on the road and the track. From the Kylaq sub-4m SUV and the Slavia sedan to the Kushaq mid-size SUV, the Kodiaq luxury 4×4, and the limited-volume Octavia RS, Škoda Auto India consistently offers sharp handling and engaging driving dynamics.
The all-new Kodiaq RS represents the pinnacle of this philosophy within the SUV line-up, bringing together the brand’s motorsport DNA, advanced performance engineering, and all-terrain capability in its most expressive form yet.
